Snapshot writing

The movies

I walked in to the movies and a cloud of buttery goodness nearly mocked me of my feet. I lined up and I looked around, everyone was running around frantically. I saw all the movie posters on the wall, when I was walking to the candy bar.

The beach

I walked in to the cold icy water and got shocked, of how cold it was. I waded out on till the water was up to my waist. I could hear the waves crashing around me. I jumped on to my board and a wave of salty water hit me.

The cafe

I walked in to the cafe and the smell of coffee filled the air.
I walked over to my seat. I look around me and see delicious food and drinks people were having.

Creation story reflection

I feel like I finished but I did it all on the last day.
Next time I need to be more organised and know when it’s due.

I think Billy finished his creation story on time but did it mostly in one day so I think he could of not left it to the last day. But overall I Think he got his work done.

Creation stories

Big Bang

Modern measurements place this moment at approximately 13.8 billion years ago, which is the age of the universe. After the first expansion, the universe cooled sufficiently to allow the formation of subatomic particles, including protons, neutrons, and electrons. Though simple atomic nuclei made within the first three minutes after the Big Bang, thousands of years passed before the first electrically neutral atoms formed. The Big Bang theory is the current cosmological model for the early development of the universe. The key idea is that the universe is expanding.Giant clouds of these primordial elements later joined through gravity to form stars and galaxies, and the heavier elements were arranged either within stars or during supernovae. The majority of atoms that were produced by the Big Bang are hydrogen, along with helium and traces of lithium. Therefore the universe was denser and hotter in the past.

The Genesis story

In the beginning there was no earth or sky or sea or animals. And then God spoke in the darkness: “Let there be light!” And right away there was light, scattering the darkness and showing the infinite space. “That’s good!” said God. “From now on, when it’s dark it will be ‘night” and when it’s light, it will be ‘day’.”The evening came and the night passed and then the light returned. That was the first day.On the second day, God made the earth and over it He carefully hung a vast blue sky. He stood back and admired His creation. “That’s good too!” said God and the second day was over. The next morning God looked around and thought, “the earth needs to be a bit more organized.” So, He put all the water in one place and all the dry land in another. When He had finished that, God made plants to cover the land. Dandelions and daffodils appeared. All sorts of trees and grasses began to grow. “It’s looking great”, said God and that was the end of the third day.On the fourth day, God looked around and thought, “the daylight still needs a bit more work and the night is just too dark.” So, He made the sun to light the sky during the day and the moon and stars to add a bit of sparkle to the night. He hung them in the sky and stepped back to look at his work. “This is coming along very well,” said God.
The next day, God turned his attention to the water he had collected in the oceans. “I want these waters teeming with life!” As soon as He said it, it was so. In no time, there were millions of small fish darting through the shallow water and huge fish swimming in the ocean. God made birds, too. He sent them soaring through the air. “Ahh, that is good!, “said God. The dusk fell over the water and the sky grew dark and that was the end of the fifth day. On the sixth day, God added creatures to the land. He made lions and tigers and bears. He made rabbits and sheep and cows. He added everything from ants to zebras to the land. But He still felt something was missing. So God added Mankind to enjoy and take care of all that He had created. God looked around and was happy with all He had made. After six days, the whole universe was completed. On the seventh day God had a nice long rest and enjoyed looking at all He had made.

His father, a Christian, took care that his son was well instructed at home, then sent him to Rome, where the young man’s teachers were the famous pagan grammarian Donatus and Victorinus, a Christian rhetorician. Jerome’s native tongue was the Illyrian dialect, but at Rome he became fluent in Latin and Greek, and read the literatures of those languages with great pleasure. He acquired many worldly ideas, made little effort to check his pleasure-loving instincts, and lost much of the piety that had been instilled in him at home. Jerome, who was born Eusebius Hieronymous Sophronius, was the most learned of the Fathers of the Western Church. Yet in spite of the pagan and hedonistic influences around him, Jerome was baptized by Pope Liberius in 360. He was born about the year 342 at Stridonius, a small town at the head of the Adriatic, near the episcopal city of Aquileia. His aptitude for oratory was such that he may have considered law as a career. He tells us that “it was my custom on Sundays to visit, with friends of my own age and tastes, the tombs of the martyrs and Apostles, going down into those subterranean galleries whose walls on both sides preserve the relics of the dead.” Here he enjoyed deciphering the inscriptions.

Maths in real life

Last night my grandma gave me a money jar to spend in Bali and didn’t know how much was in it. So I opened it and counted the money. In the jar was $126.20! But that was in Australian dollar and we had to see how much I would get in Indonesian rupiah. So I searched it up and it said that $1 Australian dollar is $10413 Indonesian rupiah. Then I saw that $126.20 Australian dollar is $1312088.40 Indonesian rupiah. The I work out that 5 cents is $520 Indonesian rupiah.

The fast winter sport , Skeleton run was added in to the Olympic program , but only in St. Moritz, Switzerland, 1928 and 1948. It was added in 2002 again. It was named after the boney sled.
